Jennifer Geertz Scholarship

The Memorial Committee of First Church Sandwich is pleased to announce the selection of Peter Milburn  as the recipient of the Jennifer Geertz Memorial Scholarship for 2026.

Peter will be attending Emerson College majoring in Media Arts with a minor in Political Science.

Peter was active in the Knights Theatre Company for all six years at the Sandwich Middle High School. He was a Tech Representative in his Freshman through Junior years and Co-President and Tech Director in his Senior year. 

Mr. Milburn has also achieved membership into multiple Honors programs including National Honor Society, English Honor Society, World Language Honor Society, Computer Science Honor Society and Social Studies Honor Society. He was also very active in Cross Country and Indoor Track throughout his High School career.

Most notably ,in his field of interest of Media Arts Production, Peter won numerous first place New England Emmy Awards in different categories. These are considered the most prestigious video production awards in the United States for High School students. Peter has won both in 2025 and 2026. He also claimed multiple first-place New England Scholastic Press Awards awards and was a 2025 National Emmy Finalist.
